I didn't manage my time very well in class, spending most of my classes painting koi under ice then messed the whole thing up in the end. I hate it now. I hate that it took that long to get it done, and i'm not even happy with it. I hate that i ruined all the details i probably spent two or three classes on, creating the ice effect.
My last two classes I worked on a new painting, stupidly picking a giant (for me anyway lol) canvas despite taking ages on a tiny one of fish. fish are not my strong suit...but if i only painted cats i'd never grow...lol next year i tackle painting a human...oh boy.
So what's this giant canvas? Well i wasn't going to pick a giant canvas then do something i will struggle with for every moment for two classes before the final show...so i am painting loki, my cat.
Saturday I got set up, watched the Markiplier charity stream (well listened) and painted the full 12 hours (with breaks) before heading to bed.
Counting class time and Sunday along with the livestream hours...i have put over 24 hours into the damn thing...but it looks awesome.
I have the ears and a patch on the face/neck then shadows and highlights and will be 'done enough' for the show.
I always end up tweaking stuff after which is why so much of my stuff isn't varnished. lol
Been taking progress pics since the last class (so the eyes were already done, all in one class in about an hour) so maybe i'll post those in scraps or whatever they may be called...they were taken with ipad since my camera decided to stop reading my camera card (so final show night I can only take 3 photos lol) so they are crap for quality.
